The Future Is Now

Making the built environment sustainable is one of the biggest issues in our current society. Now that the traditional construction sector is struggling with costly (lack of - and polluting) materials, CO2 emissions have reached their limit and there is a shortage of manpower, we need to find different approaches.

At the same time, people are busy developing sustainable innovative technologies, bio-based materials, nature-inclusive building practices and data-informed sustainable use of manpower. There are people experimenting with communities, collective ownership and driving cultural change.

To help these change-makers achieve breakthroughs, new knowledge, inclusion of ancient wisdom, and mutual connection are all needed. Spinwaves Lab’s intention is to facilitate discovering, designing and realizing this together.

What is Spinwaves Lab?

Spinwaves Lab is a leadership program and social innovation lab.

In Spinwaves Lab, two methodological frameworks are applied in a pioneering and practical way: Theory U and Biomimicry.

Spinwaves Lab focuses on personal leadership. Your leadership develops as the instrument to make the difference.

Spinwaves Lab offers you a collective of innovators with aligned intention to work and learn with.

With prototypes and design thinking, we work on connecting and scaling up existing initiatives, as well as providing tools and guidance for new projects.

What’s Been Said About Spinwaves Lab

“De bouw is masculien en fouten maken is een taboe. Pioniers raken gefrustreerd, terwijl we weten dat het nu anders moet en kan! Als opdrachtgever van Spinwaves Lab hoop ik dat pioniers hier samen leren, op inhoudelijk en persoonlijk vlak. Beide is nodig om echte doorbraken te kunnen realiseren!”

– Leonie van der Steen – opdrachtgever MVI-e van topsector energie

"The world, including the Netherlands, is discovering impactful ways of working that we can apply to become more sustainable. A linear approach must make way for circular methods in which the collective works together. How do we do that? Biomimicry helps us to concretise this in a sustainable way. Nature as a mentor is a wealth for humanity."

- Laura Stevens - Dr Biomimicry

"I think it is a fantastic methodology, participation has brought me a lot. You are helped to slow down the train for a moment, to take the time to observe different perspectives on the system. That makes all the difference."

- Heleen Lansink - participant Harvest of Tomorrow

"We need to build a collective capacity for transformation. We learned that you cannot change a system unless you transform consciousness. You cannot transform consciousness unless you make a system sense and see itself. You cannot do these things at scale unless you create new forms of deep learning."

- Otto Scharmer - Faculty

Wat Zij Zeggen over Spinwaves lab

"Construction is masculine and making mistakes is a taboo. Pioneers get frustrated, while we know that things must and can be done differently now! As the client of Spinwaves Lab, I hope that pioneers learn together, both personally and in terms of content. Both are necessary to achieve real breakthroughs!
